Ephesians 3: 16-19

In the abundance of his glory may he, through his Spirit, enable you to grow firm in power with regard to your inner self,

so that Christ may live in your hearts through faith, and then, planted in love and built on love,

with all God’s holy people you will have the strength to grasp the breadth and the length, the height and the depth;

so that, knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond knowledge, you may be filled with the utter fullness of God.

Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is God from of old,
creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary,
and his knowledge is beyond scrutiny.
He gives power to the faint,
abundant strength to the weak.
Though young men faint and grow weary,
and youths stagger and fall,
They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength,
they will soar on eagles’ wings;
They will run and not grow weary,
walk and not grow faint.

the God of my father, I extol him.

2 Corinthians 12: 9-10

but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses,* in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me.
Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong

Colossians 1 : 10 – 12

to live in a manner worthy of the Lord, so as to be fully pleasing, in every good work bearing fruit and growing in the knowledge of God,
strengthened with every power, in accord with his glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy
giving thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light.

Psalm 18: 32-34

Who but our God is the rock?

Who made my feet like a deer’s,
and set me on the heights,

I hear, and my body trembles;
at the sound, my lips quiver.
Decay invades my bones,
my legs tremble beneath me.
I await the day of distress
that will come upon the people who attack us.

For though the fig tree does not blossom,
and no fruit appears on the vine,
Though the yield of the olive fails
and the terraces produce no nourishment,
Though the flocks disappear from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD
and exult in my saving God.

GOD, my Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet swift as those of deer
and enables me to tread upon the heights

Psalm 28: 7-8

The LORD is my strength and my shield,

in whom my heart trusts.
I am helped, so my heart rejoices;
with my song I praise him.

LORD, you are a strength for your people,
the saving refuge of your anointed.

Psalm 46: 2-3

God is our refuge and our strength,
an ever-present help in distress.

Thus we do not fear, though earth be shaken
and mountains quake to the depths of the sea,

Prayer for Strength – Prayer by Pope Benedict:

The following is a prayer by Pope Benedict, as quoted from the Catholic News Agency.

Come Jesus; come, give strength to the light and to the good; come where dishonesty, ignorance of God, violence and injustice dominate; come, Lord Jesus, give strength to the good in the world and help us to be bearers of your light, workers of peace, witnesses of truth. Come Lord Jesus!
